The Cook County Down Payment Assistance Program is anticipated to relaunch in May 2025.
The program was launched back in June 2024 to help homebuyers looking to purchase within Cook County, IL with down payments, closing costs, or interest rate buydowns, providing subsidies of 5 percent of the final first mortgage loan amount, not to exceed $25,000. The assistance is provided as a forgivable second loan with a 5-year term.
